Relentless drive for zero waste remains firm focus for Texon as its performance fabric and structural component experts ramp up international trade fair activity this September.
Proving the pandemic hasn’t slowed the progress of its product development team or its pursuit of zero waste, Texon will be taking a series of new and re-worked products to Lineapelle; A+A; and Packaging Première this autumn. Technologies under the spotlight will include Texon’s recently launched ProWeave jacquard weaving technology and a range of structural component products that have been re-engineered to make them even more eco-friendly.
Texon has worked hard over the last year to increase the recycled content of many of its best-known structural components. It has also enhanced the sustainability of the manufacturing processes used to make them. Designed to enable the production of high performing footwear, with better sustainability credentials, many of these products will be on display at Lineapelle including: Ecoline insoles; BioForm heel counters; and Sportflex Eco & Bio toe puffs.
At Lineapelle, Texon will also be promoting ProWeave. A natural extension to Texon’s footwear and material expertise, ProWeave is radically different to traditional weaving and knitting techniques. Enabling greater creativity, ProWeave delivers zonal, multi-directional stretch, which in turn provides stronger and enhanced structural support. Launched in early 2021, ProWeave is helping designers reimagine fabrics across a variety of sectors and footwear and clothing applications:
In the performance field, ProWeave can adjust to the body – no matter the activity – enabling the wearer to push themselves to the limits and reach their full potential
For outdoor apparel and footwear, ProWeave is helping manufacturers explore new ground when it comes to the design and production of waterproof, lightweight materials
In the luxury market, ProWeave blends style and comfort effortlessly and without compromise, combining textures, patterns and colours in a unique, seamless way.
In the safety market, ProWeave can be engineered to create shoe uppers and garments that are robust and waterproof, but also breathable and comfortable – enabling industrial professionals to feel safe and supported in any situation. These properties – plus others – will be promoted at A+A in October. Texon is already well-known in the safety arena for products such as:
Texon Knox & Texon Enigma Zero HT3: Innovative insole materials that provide protection against sharp objects such as nails and tacks
Texon No-Tear & Texon T Nova: Next generation high performance fabrics that are suitable for use in both safety footwear and clothing.
At Packaging Première, Texon will turn the spotlight on its Vogue portfolio. This versatile, robust, washable material is well regarded by designers and manufacturers alike and is widely used in a variety of products such as fashion accessories, homeware and stationery.
Bryan Whitfield, Group Sales Director at Texon said:
“Over the last 18 months, our sales team has been working closely – albeit virtually – with customers to showcase our range of high performing, sustainable products. Naturally the team is eager to get back face-to-face with customers and we are looking forward to showcasing our latest innovations this autumn. With a range of re-engineered products to promote alongside ProWeave, we have an exciting few months ahead of us out on the road – discussing the changes we’ve made to our materials and how these can help our customers meet their own product development and sustainability objectives.”
