Social Responsibility - our corporate ethics

Texon International is committed to conducting business with the highest level of integrity and in an environmentally ethical manner. The company actively works towards the protection of the environment through innovation and conscientious process management as an integral part of its global business strategy. It strives to achieve this through working in partnership with both customers and suppliers, while applying the latest technologies to the supply chain for structural materials. As a pioneer in the footwear industry, Texon leads the field in implementing and sharing best practices in manufacturing.

In every country in which it operates production facilities, the company complies with the requisite international and local laws in respect of health and safety practices. Its factories are audited by its customers on a regular basis to ensure Texon's code of conduct is compliant with their own stringent standards and safety requirements.

In addition, the company observes the international standard for chemical and substance usage where there is a risk that these could cause harm. Texon keeps continually abreast of the updated list of chemicals and substances that are identified as being a potential risk. Only materials and chemicals that are considered to be safe to use are involved in the development process of new products. To comply with this standard, Texon's products are regularly tested by independent test houses such as SATRA. In the unlikely event that any substances have a potential risk, Texon phases out or removes any possible harmful substance in its products.

Tom Spedding, Group Chief Executive, Texon International says: "As a global business Texon International has a major responsibility to all its stakeholders to protect, preserve and sustain the environment and to safeguard all the communities in which we operate. It is a responsibility we shoulder with considerable gravity and we always strive to be in the vanguard of new, innovative processes and procedures that are at the forefront of the industries we serve."

As leaders in eco-friendly technology, Texon has been offering recyclable products for over 10 years and always works to the following goals:

  • To offer environmentally sustainable products across all market segments, using materials which would otherwise be sent to landfill.
  • To minimise the impact of manufacturing technologies and commercial operations on the environment while offering a mutual benefit to customers and suppliers.
  • To work in partnership with suppliers and customers to look at new innovative technologies in using post consumer waste streams to produce natural fibres.
  • To recycle post production waste in all its manufacturing units and to offer recycling programmes to key customers and suppliers by collecting all production waste by licensed treatment companies, and recycling it back into products.
  • To practise LEAN management to reduce waste, increase factory output, improve working conditions, save energy, and filter and reuse waste water in all its production facilities.
  • To purify and deposit SOČ and dust during smoke emission through the installation of a modern boiler technology.
